I am here today to talk to you about this Full Moon period we are beginning in the early morning on August 9th at 12:55 am (Pacific Daylights Savings time). So, it will be full on August 9th at 3:55 am EDT.
This is known as the Sturgeon Moon because this is the time of year when sturgeon were most readily caught during August. Sturgeon are prehistoric fish, and symbolize longevity, survival, and ancestral knowledge. This is the time to reap the rewards of your hard work, release any lingering emotional weight, strengthen your spiritual foundation, and reconnect with your ancestors and guides on the other side. Other names are the Corn Moon, the Barley Moon, the Fruit Moon, and the Lightning Moon.
We have a Full Moon when the sun and moon are considered in opposition. Astrologically, this means that both the Sun and Moon are in opposing signs, and at the time of this Full Moon, the Sun is in Leo, & the Moon is in Aquarius, exactly opposed the Sun on Aug. 9th at 12:55 am PDT. This Full Moon is all about daring to do what you aspire to do, as you align personal ideals and collective concerns. The developments will prove to be relevant in the future. It’s also a time of healing and closure. This is a very cleansing Full Moon and will calibrate us more for the future.
Aspect-wise, there are some major considerations.
