New Moon in Sagittarius on November 30, 2024

The New Moon period begins late Saturday night, November 30th, at 11:21 pm MST (Arizona time).

The New Moon is the end of one lunar cycle and the beginning of another. Astrologically, it means that the Sun and Moon are in the same astrological sign. This time it is Sagittarius. The New Moon is a time of new beginnings, so it’s a great time to plan new ideas and projects in the weeks to come.

The energy of Sagittarius tends to be expansive, free, and visionary, as we plant seeds of optimism and allowing ourselves to leave the painful parts of the past behind, and visualize a bigger and brighter future.

The New Moon in Sagittarius renews your sense of adventure, so you may be traveling and/or spending quality time with family and friends. You love to learn, so you may register for a new class. You may also consider all possibilities of a situation rather than focusing on roadblocks. This New Moon offers you hope and a bigger picture. You can imagine what your situation could be, and see things from a higher perspective.

There are lots of aspects in the works, including Mercury retrograde.

Please note that our Winter Solstice ceremony is scheduled for December 21st at 4:00 pm on Facebook Live. Replays will be available.

Full Moon in Taurus-Scorpio on November 15th

This Full Moon is on November 15th at 2:28 pm MST (Arizona time).

This is known as the Beaver Moon, due to the fact that beavers are known to be especially active in November, building dams and shelters to survive the cold months to come. Other common names are the Frost moon or the Freezing Moon due to the first frosts in the northern hemisphere. There are also other names used, based upon this cooler season. The Beaver Moon is all about preparation and adaptation, so it’s also a good time for us to evaluate our own resources, as the colder months approach.

We have a Full Moon when the Sun and Moon are in opposition, astrologically. At the time of this Full Moon, the Sun is in Scorpio and the Moon is in Taurus (as of the 14th) and directly opposed the Sun on the 15th at 2:28 PM. The Full Moon in Taurus promotes groundedness, determination, and focus. The Scorpio Sun is intense and emotionally driven, so it is still a great time to do inner work, and realize that there may be some significant transformations happening in your life.

Aspect-wise, things are on again, off again, day by day. Lots of changes and unknowns hopefully leading to positive solutions.

If you haven’t seen our Samhain ceremony, it is still available on Facebook Live on the Druids of the Lights page, in the pinned/featured section.

Please make a note for the future. Our Winter Solstice ceremony will be on December 21st. More info on that as we approach that time.

Samhain – Honoring the Ancestors

Samhain is a sacred time when we welcome the turning towards winter, the last of the harvest celebrations, and the half way mark between the Autumn Equinox and the Winter Solstice. It is also often considered to be the beginning of the Druid New Year. We honor our ancestors at this time when the veil between the worlds is at its thinnest.

Come and join Druids of the Light in a very special Ancestor Rite in honor of Samhain, followed by a special blessing to carry us into the coming year.  We will be meeting on Facebook Live at 4:30 pm on Saturday evening, November 2nd, 2024.

The ceremony is approximately 30 minutes long. Suggested love offering of $10.

Full Moon in Pisces-Virgo on Sept. 17th

This Full Moon is on Tuesday evening, September 17th at 7:34 pm PDT.

This is known as the Harvest Moon as this is the time of year when crops are ready to be harvested. It is also known as the Corn Moon or the Falling Leaves Moon by various cultures, as well as other similar names. This particular Full Moon is a Super Harvest Moon due to the fact that it is closest to the Earth which makes it appear to be larger and brighter.

We have a Full Moon when the Sun and Moon are astrologically in opposing signs. At the time of this Full Moon, the Sun is in Virgo and the Moon is in Pisces at exactly 7:34 pm PDT. The Virgo Sun is practical, detail oriented, and grounded. The Moon in Pisces, on the other hand, is more expansive and teaches us that we are connected to all things. Pisces heightens our energetic sensitivity, and we can explore our inner consciousness to a greater extent as we realize our unlimited potential.

This is also a time of a Lunar Eclipse.

New Moon in Virgo

The New Moon is on September 2, 2024 at 6:56 pm PDT (Arizona time).

This is the end of our last lunar cycle and the beginning of the new cycle. Astrologically, but the Sun and Moon are conjunct in Virgo on the 2nd. This year, the New Moon is also on Labor Day. It’s a time of new beginnings so it’s a time to start new projects, set intentions, and getting your ducks in a row to make things happen.

The New Moon in Virgo is very practical, grounding, and detail-oriented. It’s a great time to get organized, analyze your goals, and take practical steps towards your dreams and goals without being too self-critical. Focus on healthy routines and implement efficient systems to get things done step by step. It’s also time to seek wholeness by aligning mind, body, and spirit.

There are many favorable aspects to this New Moon.

Full Moon in Aquarius-Leo on August 19, 2024

The Full Sturgeon Moon falls on August 19th at 11:26 AM PDT ( Arizona time).

This is known as the Full Sturgeon Moon due to the abundance of Sturgeons in North America’s lakes at this time of year. Since it is also harvest season, it is also called the Full Fruit Moon or the Black Berries Moon, and other such names.

We have a Full Moon when the Sun and Moon are in opposition astrologically. For this moon cycle the Sun is in Leo and the Moon in Aquarius is directly opposed the Sun at 11:26 am PDT. Leo is powerful, and is often impressing others and earning praise and admiration for a variety of achievements. Aquarius, on the other hand, has the power to bring about our bold spirit, offering us greater freedom from social norms, the judgements of others, and obligations that weigh us down. As a result, this Full Moon has to awaken hidden talents and provide revelations that free us from the barriers that hold us back.

Aspect-wise, there is a lot going on… an irrepressible urge for freedom vs the desire for commitment and security.
