The next ceremony of the Wheel of the Year is Samhain – the time of the New Year in the Celtic tradition.

Samhain is a sacred time when we welcome the turning towards winter, the last of the harvest celebrations, the halfway mark between the Autumn Equinox and the Winter Solstice. It is also considered to be the beginning of the Druid New Year. We honor our Ancestors at this time when the veil between the worlds is at its thinnest.

Come and join Druids of the Light in a very special Ancestor Rite in honor of Samhain, followed by a special blessing to carry us into the coming year. We will be meeting on Facebook Live on the Druids of the Light Facebook page on Saturday, October 30th at 4:30 pm.

The moon is New on October 6th at 4:05 am, AZ time. This is the start of a new moon cycle. Libra has to do with Balance and Diplomacy, especially in our communications and relationships. There are some aspects that may affect the usual harmony of this moon, including aspects with Mars and Uranus, and Mercury is retrograde until Oct. 18th.

Take care of YOU, maintain your center, do your inner work, and this MAY be a real blessing for you!

The moon will be full on Sept 20th, 2021 at 4:55 pm AZ time. This is a fun full moon due to positive aspects to Jupiter and Mercury, both of which add feelings of optimism, generosity, and good fortune. This is a time of balance, aligned with the Autumn Equinox (which is just two days later). It is also a wonderful balance between the grounded Virgo Sun and the etherial, transcendent Pisces Moon. A wonderful time to really follow your intuition for what’s next for you.

The new moon in September is on September 6th at 5:22 pm AZ Time (PDT). This new moon is in the sign of Virgo, known for groundedness, attention to detail, and healing. This is a time to do the inner work on old wounds and allow transformation to take place to prepare for the upcoming seasons. This is also a time to celebrate the harvest – to celebrate our successes for the past month and for the past few seasons.

Autumn Equinox is a time of balance, a time when day and night are equal in length, and a time of turning inward as we contemplate the coming winter. It is also a time to express gratitude for all of the abundance and blessings that have come our way in the past year.

Druids of the Light will be meeting on Facebook Live on Saturday, September 18^th at 5:00 pm to celebrate this wonderful time of harvest, and to honor Nuada and Airmed, the god and goddess of healing and prosperity. The ceremony is approximately 30 minutes long.

The Full Moon in August is on August 22nd at 5:01 am AZ time (PDT). A full moon is a time of completion and the Leo sun energy combined with the Aquarian moon energy are both helping us to bring projects to fruition. The alignment with the Sturgeons give us resilience and adaptability. A conjunction with Jupiter also brings us spiritual growth and good fortune.

This is also the Harvest season, and some of this energy helps us to continue to stay on track for our more longer-term goals.

The New Moon is coming up, Sunday, August 8th at 6:50 am Arizona time (PDT). The Sun and Moon are conjunct in Leo which brings in healthy pride and confidence for formulating new creative projects. Because this New Moon is also square Uranus, the planet of change, this could be a time of sudden, unexpected surprises. Be prepared to flow with it! This is also the time of the first harvest and so we are now beginning to reap what we have sown in the Spring. So it is also a time of celebration.

The Full Moon in July is on Friday, July 23rd at 7:37 pm, AZ (PDT) time. A full moon is a time of bringing things to completion, and beneath the glow if THIS full buck moon, you feel centered, grounded, and replenished – ready to bring your dreams and intentions to fruition.

The Sun’s Leo energy of action and pride is further defined by the Moon’s Aquarius water bearer – the ability to collect the emotions of the world and transform them, bringing about a shift in consciousness. It’s a nourishing act that can bring about healing, if we can ride through the transformations that come, let go of what doesn’t work anymore, and integrate the lessons presented. Change is in the air, so definitely look at where you can shift directions to further your goals and bring about an abundant harvest.
